03.10.2023 will be the 80th anniversary of the Lingiades massacre. Preparations for the commemoration day are already underway.
Among other things, the small museum/cultural centre of Lingiades will be open. In the cultural centre, the documentary by director Chrysanthos Konstantinidis will be shown this year, in Greek with English subtitles. There will also be a commemorative event, including the laying of a wreath in memory of the victims of the massacre.
Visitors and interested people are welcome to learn more about the history of the village. We ask for respectful treatment as this day is a day of mourning and remembrance.
